🎵 Choir Workshop; "WestEast Chor; An Eastern Music Ensemble in Bremen"
Throughout history, the Anatolian geography has hosted many musical traditions. One of the main types of Eastern musical traditions, the ancient "makam music", has continued its development in the hands of the Turkish states for about 1000 years of history and has become a part of the world. For this reason, "makam music" is also known as "Turkish music" in many circles.

Focusing on the music of Anatolia and its surroundings in its works, WestEast Chor, under the artistic direction of Güvenç Birer, performs makam music in languages such as Turkish Music and Turkish, as well as Azeri Turkish, Laz, Armenian, Kurdish, Greek, Albanian and Macedonian.

This workshop, which builds a cultural bridge between the East and the West, is open to everyone. Whether you are an amateur or a professional, we invite you to our workshop at the Izmir International Music Village, where we will reinterpret makam music, play and sing together!
